Terminally Ill Star Wars Fan Gets Early Screening Of New Movie
While JJ Abrams has said that the recent trailer that we got here in the U.S. for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the final trailer, that’s true – from a certain point of view.
Yesterday his wife, Ashley, published on Facebook that “Daniels final dream was just granted!!!”
Fleetwood thanked Abrams for personally calling them on Wednesday to tell them that “his wish was granted” and also expressed gratitude to those who helped share his story. Disney Studios confirmed the screening.
The plot of The Force Awakens, the seventh film installment in George Lucas’s widely popular Star Wars universe that will see the return of franchise veterans Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mayhew, has been kept tightly under the wraps.
Word of Daniel’s wish went viral on social media and his dream came true.
In 2012 Daniel was diagnosed with spindle cell carcinoma, a cancer that originates in one’s skin or in the lining of one’s organs. She would prefer, she said, to spend more time with Daniel. Ashley Fleetwood posted on Facebook.
‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ is the gift that keeps on giving.
The Force Awakens will be the first new Star Wars film to be released since 2005’s Revenge of the Sith, and the first new Star Wars film directly connected to the original trilogy since 1983’s Return of the Jedi. “I know all about waiting… for my family”, she tells BB-8 as the two walk through the dessert.
The campaign quickly picked up attention from fellow fans and Star Wars actors alike, who pushed for the Star Wars enthusiast to see the long-await sequel while he was still strong enough.
Star Wars is landmark cinema for many cine-buffs, as an entire generation in America has grown up with this epic space opera, making it a worldwide pop cultural phenomenon.
There’s still no sign of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).
