Terrelle Pryor leaves the Browns for the Redskins
According to the Washington Post, Pryor left D.C. without a contract, but will keep “his options available”.
“Hello, Redskins fans, and hello, D.C.” he said in a video posted on the team’s website. “I’m happy to make some plays for you guys and make some big-time plays”.
The Browns elected to let Pryor test the free agency waters after deciding not to place the franchise tag on the 27-year-old, a move that would have cost the team $16 million dollars.
He caught 77 receptions for 1,077 yards and scored four touchdowns with Cleveland a year ago. There are a lot of people who’ve already forgotten that the Redskins spent a lot more than the $8 million they are giving Pryor on last year’s first round draft pick, Josh Doctson.
On Wednesday night, a report circulated that the Eagles are expected to sign Britt “barring something big changing”.
Though he didn’t mean it at the time, Pryor ending up with the Redskins would be the definition of not “taking the easy way out”. The former Ohio State quarterback was also pressed into action as a signal caller for Cleveland due to catastrophic and varied injuries to everyone on the depth chart at that position.
He may yet get a deal similar to the one he turned down.
Cleveland had a value for Pryor the past few months, and like Florio says, it was for $8 million per year.
He posted those numbers in a year where the Rams finished 31st in passing yards, last in total offense and last in scoring.
His focus in the classroom, his energy on the practice field, I think it’s at an all-time high. “Our main focus is us and who is going to be here”.
