Terry: Chelsea Players Thinking Of Mourinho
New Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink says that he would love to recruit Didier Drogba to the club’s backroom staff. “If you don’t have that desire, please knock on my door and we’ll talk – we’ll talk briefly”.
In truth, Chelsea actually played better than they have in recent times and the performance from the defending Premier League giants fueled the speculation that the players simply did not want to play for Mourinho.
That will be easier said than done given their current position and the sheer number of sides battling at the top of the table, but Chelsea have more than enough quality in their squad to turn things around.
A hugely unpopular decision with the overwhelming majority of Chelsea supporters, these Blues fans are exclusively blaming the players for the club’s quite bad Premier League campaign so far. “I know it is always open but I’d like to end that a bit now, get into the games and then we’ll see what happens”.
Having taken charge of his first two training sessions back at Chelsea, Hiddink feels confident that there is no attitude problem within the camp or any lack of desire among the players to get the team back on track.
“I worked at that time with a lot of love for the club and to work with the players is great”.
“He is a legend, both in and (outside) of the club”, he added.
“Other people have to deal with that, not me”.
He will be without Eden Hazard, who substituted himself with a hip injury in the 2-1 defeat at Leicester on Monday.
Hiddink claimed he has not met Mourinho despite reports the Dutchman sought his predecessor’s advice, but revealed Abramovich was “hurting” over sacking the Portuguese.
“I shouldn’t be here, halfway into the season, because it means things aren’t going well”, he said at his first press conference.
“I don’t want to be “informed” that much, I will make my own judgements”.
Fabregas was forced to deny allegations of attempting to undermine Mourinho’s tenure, but now the squad have Holland’s “collective responsibility” warning ringing in their ears. They told me yesterday we’d had a nice breakfast but we couldn’t agree who would pay!
