Tesla (TSLA) Delivery Guidance At Risk Again? Trip Chowdhry Seems anxious
(NASDAQ:TSLA) sports Model X.
The three all-wheel drive SUVs will be delivered to the customers who made their pre-orders and deposits years ago.
Official and complete pricing has been confirmed for the Tesla Model X, but more importantly, owners now have the ability to choose from a complete set of options and colors for the new electric crossover.
The drop in price, however, is substantial, with the Model X 70D’s asking price of $80,000 being well below that of the 90D.
As we head toward the month of December, and the holidays it brings, it’s clear that nobody who has booked a Signature version of the Model X has taken delivery just yet. And with the Signature series sold out, the highest performance version of the auto – the P90D – now starts at $115,500. Instead of saying “come on, if you have $80,000 and are willing to spend it on a large electric SUV, you can search in your pockets and come up with $50,000 more, can’t you?”, Tesla gave the people what they wanted. In addition, a few states, like California, will be offering additional incentives of up to $2,500 for the Model X. Other add-ons include the $4,500 premium package, $2,500 premium sound system, $1,000 subzero weather package, and the $750 towing pack. There are several premium features to go for which cost $4,500 extra while the Autopilot self-driving features comes for another $2,500.
According to Business Insider, CEO Elon Musk aims to change the world, not by merely selling the cars but lifting our dependence on fossil fuels.
The Guardians mentioned the statement of the company, “Tesla recently found a Model S in Europe with a front seat belt that was not properly connected to the outboard lap pretensioner”. Mr. Musk told investors on the most recent Tesla Motors earnings call that the “sculptural work of art” that is the seating has proved hard to get from third parties.
What this means is that if it is range and not outright acceleration that you are looking for than the base 70D makes more sense than the top end version that is priced between $1,32,000 to $1,44,000. Renowned Tesla bull – Global Equities Research’s Trip Chowdhry – has shown signs of concerns on the matter, mostly due to Model X. Bidness Etc discusses if the guidance is really at risk or it seems wise to trust the management.
The open of the Design Studio could be seen as the real launch of the Model X, but in reality we’ll still have a long time to wait before the EV is anything like a production vehicle.
