Texans’ QB Brandon Weeden takes shots at Cowboys

Weeden began the year with Dallas and recently said in an interview that it would be “sweet” to advance to the playoffs with Houston, given that the Cowboys have been eliminated.

Weeden was Tony Romo’s backup to start the season and was called “limited” by Jerry Jones. But Jones didn’t make any excuses for Weeden’s struggles in Dallas.

People within the organization and Dallas Cowboys fans started to turn on the man that was supposed to save their season.

“Everybody’s got some strengths on the field, and everybody’s got some weaknesses”, Jones said.

“Yeah, absolutely. We get to play extra football and he’ll be watching on his couch”. Weeden will return to be sideline if Texans starter Brian Hoyer is cleared from concussion protocol before Sunday according to Houston head coach Bill O’Brien. We’re not big believers in it. Jason, a year ago, everyone thought he hung the moon.

Not the follow-up the Cowboys had in mind, but they were simply unable to overcome the losses of Tony Romo and Dez Bryant despite residing in perhaps the league’s most mediocre division. Why?

Jones also mentioned about their upcoming draft pick which he said they will evaluate and look hard at. I think they were just as shocked as I was with some of the things that maybe Jerry or whoever was saying. It was kind of one of those things. “No, you’re not going to have that because I believe that we’re closer than this record indicates”. We haven’t done enough things in some of these games that we lost on our way to this record that we could have won.

Because of the fiasco they had at the quarterback position, Jones discussed, “It’s obviously going to be a high priority for us, the backup situation, as it relates to not only being able to come in and do better than we did this year, but whatever way, whatever we do, do better, but we’re looking to our future”. “It’s the same group of coaches, the same cast from a top-five offense, but we don’t have the same stats”.

What he didn’t do was help the Cowboys get a win, but the other two have only combined for one of those, as the team sits at a highly irrelevant 4-11 with one week to go.
