Texans trade QB Brock Osweiler to Browns with second-round pick

That seems like quite the risk for the Texans, then, and outside of hoping Romo will feel compelled by the move Houston just made, it seems like the Texans would have been wise to have a back-up plan in mind. He is set to make $16 million next season.

The Texans are also sending a 2018 second-round pick to the Browns in exchange for a 2017 fourth-round pick and salary-cap relief from getting rid of Osweiler’s contract.

So what does Houston get in return? It’s possible they’ll try to entice the Patriots to move the 25-year-old Garoppolo.

But they also get out of Osweiler’s big contract and about $10 million in cap space. “We’ve been talking a lot about just being patient about the process and sitting down and making sure you’re 100 percent comfortable with where you go”.
