Texarkana man suspected of killing teenager in Dallas

As of Sunday evening, Cochran remained in the Dallas County Jail with a bond of $2.5 million.

A spokeswoman for Hastings’ relatives said they were relieved Cochran had been captured, but they continue to struggle with the tragedy.

Max Geron said. The DNA matches Cochran’s DNA, and Cochran matches descriptions given by witnesses who saw Hastings being abducted from a Walgreens store, authorities said.

Cochran was accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl in 2014, but was acquitted by a jury in Bowie County, Texas, earlier this year, TXKtoday.com reported.

The police stated she was at the Garland Road Walgreens to return a Red Box movie, and Cochran allegedly got into the auto as Hastings moved into the passenger seat, according to witnesses. The minivan was located in a nearby creek.

Cochran’s criminal history dates back to 1998, according to the Dallas Morning News.

“That’s kind of terrifying”, she said after hearing the news. She said he forced her to have nonconsentual sex with him in the auto and in the woods.
