Texas A&M: Kyler Murray status unclear
Six days ago, Kyle Allen announced he was transferring and on Wednesday rumors broke that Kyler Murray was also contemplating leaving Texas A&M. “I’ve seen him throw the ball from the hash to the far sideline”.
Murray and his family reportedly met with Sumlin for a second straight day on Wednesday to discuss his situation. Texas A&M fans have to be scratching their heads right about now, and they’re not alone.
1 rated dual-threat quarterback in the 2015 class by many recruiting services and started three games this season. Without Allen and Murray, junior-college transfer Jake Hubenak would be the only quarterback on the roster who arrived with a scholarship.
Murray played in seven games this season as a freshman. Sumlin said Wednesday he was surprised with Allen’s decision to leave the program – the sophomore ended the regular season as the starter and would have presumably remained in that role for the bowl – and said, “obviously, we didn’t agree with it”. Last month Sumlin denied reports Spavital would not return. However, one thing is certain as the offseason approaches, the program once again faces some big questions going into 2016.
“I’ve been evaluating our staff the whole time”, Sumlin said. Offensively, we’ve struggled. If there’s anybody to blame, that’s me.
“I think it shows the kind of coach that [Sumlin] is”, Rambo said.
