Texas A&M student dies of apparent drug overdose
A 19-year-old student died of an apparent drug overdose at a Texas A&M University fraternity house on Saturday, and four other men were arrested on drug charges.
Officers were called to the house, located at 550 Fraternity Row, around 4:40 p.m. The press release states that he is a student, but does not state exactly which university he is attending. Meanwhile, four other men have been arrested and cited for drug possession.
This is a developing story that will be updated when more information becomes available.
18 year old Christian Sandford and 21 year old Ty Robertson of College Station were arrested for marijuana possession.
Patterson was charged with having fewer than 20 units of LSD and less than one gram of MDMA, and Frymire for having less than one gram of hash oil.
Frymire is from Dallas and Robertson from Granbury.
The fraternity said it will assist the police’s investigation and will conduct its own at an appropriate time.
‘Our hearts are filled with sorrow as we grieve the loss of this young man, ‘ said Sigma Nu Executive Director Brad Beacham.
The fraternity says its thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and loved ones.
We will be working with Texas A&M officials to provide as much continuing support as possible to those affected.
Local authorities were notified and have begun an investigation.
