Texas police investigate Manziel’s role in possible assault
Fort Worth police put out a press release about officers being dispatched an apartment in that Texas city around 3 a.m. ET Saturday “in reference to a report of a possible assault”. Officers spoke with a 23-year-old woman who said she had been involved in an incident with her ex-boyfriend in Dallas hours prior.
The Fort Worth Police Department said in a statement to ABC News, “An information report was completed regarding an altercation between Manziel and his girlfriend”.
In that incident, Manziel was driving at a high rate of speed and passed cars on the shoulder before police were called, according to the police report. She was uncooperative with officers and raised concerns about her ex-boyfriend’s well-being.
Later in the day, the Fort Worth and Dallas police investigated to determine whether an assault charge was warranted against Manziel following an altercation Friday between him and the ex-girlfriend.
“We are in the preliminary stages of the investigation and have no further information at this time”, Dallas police said.
The Cleveland Browns said that they would have no comment on the matter at this time. He then deemed the helicopter’s use appropriate if the senior officer at the scene made that decision.
Manziel, who reportedly wants to go to the Dallas Cowboys, has repeatedly made headlines for his partying ways in the previous year.
Haslam also said he thought the Browns’ relationship with Manziel could be fixed, but that doesn’t seem the least bit realistic.
While it is obviously important to note that no one was arrested, it is still not a good look for Manziel – especially with a new head coach and management team in place for the Browns. “After that, I think it is integrity”.
Johnny Manziel has not had the best year to say the least. “I think that’s undeniable”, Haslam replied.
“Johnny Football” formerly played for Texas A&M University.
Manziel spent 10 weeks in treatment for undisclosed reasons prior to this season, ESPN reports.
Peter John Baptiste, the team’s vice president of communications, would not confirm if Manziel was in Cleveland on Sunday or if he had still been required to attend the Browns’ game, which they lost 28-12.
