Texas to cut HIV prevention funds to Planned Parenthood facility
The affiliate’s contract receives federal funds through the US government’s Centers for Control Disease and Prevention, but is managed by the state of Texas. The program indentified 1,182 HIV positive individuals. Tests for other sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea and syphilis are also administered by the program. “As I have said, the health of all Utahns remains a priority, and I will continue to work with the Utah Department of Health, local health departments, community health centers, non-profit clinics and others to ensure access to these important services”.
Federalist writer Kimberly Ells recently pointed out that Planned Parenthood is perfectly fine with HIV-positive people who want to hide their status from their sexual partners.
It’s all laid out in International Planned Parenthood Federation’s booklet for HIV-positive youth, “Healthy, Happy and Hot”. Sharing your HIV status is called disclosure. In a different setting, three people died and nine were left wounded in the shooting in an abortion clinic in Colorado Springs last November and the suspect allegedly felt no remorse as he confessed in court saying, “I’m guilty” and “I’m a warrior for the babies”. “These laws violate the rights of people living with HIV by forcing them to disclose or face the possibility of criminal charges”.
The decision to cut HIV testing funding to Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast is likely to affect thousands of Texas men and women who rely on Planned Parenthood for crucial sexual health resources.
A CDC spokeswoman said the agency does not provide money directly to Planned Parenthood and the state is within its rights to reallocate the money. For one, if by some chance OIG’s investigation does turn up some illegalities on the part of Planned Parenthood, it would be up to the Obama administration to prosecute the organization – a highly unlikely occurrence.
Since the release of the Planned Parenthood videos, several investigations have been launched by congressional Republicans, including a House select committee probe that is not expected to be completed until the end of next year.
Furthermore, as LifeNews.com reported, the federal law that supposedly bans the sale of fetal tissue, written by pro-abortion former Congressman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), “is so narrow that the exposed Planned Parenthood practices are fully legal under the letter of it in a manner that Planned Parenthood’s high priced attorneys have been able to exploit”. Live Action said one series showed Planned Parenthood employees at multiple affiliates actively assisting or being complicit in aiding a prostitution ring advising patients on how to procure sex-selective abortions, and one who said they would immerse a child born alive after a botched abortion in a chemical solution to make it stop moving and breathing.
