Thanksgiving meal sites taking registrations, donations
Vincent de Paul Church is offering its annual free community Thanksgiving dinner from 2 to 5 p.m.at its location on Route 739, across from Ray-N-Charles, Milford Township.
“My favorite part is that so many of our parishioners show and and say, ‘what do you need to be done?’ Even the children help out”, Harper said.

Tonight at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lima there was a presentation on how to prepare a plant-based Thanksgiving meal. Each year the event serves between 100 and 400 guests. The dinner has been moved to a new location this year, as there is a major construction project at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
Faith Community Pastor Dan Nickolich said it’s an impressive feat considering the small congregation.
Lieving said the idea of the holiday dinner came last Thanksgiving as her family sat around their own holiday table.
“We just love working with those drama kids”, Brown said. “We invite people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in this event”.
Brown said they have had two dinners in the past to ensure all who wanted to attend could make it. The 11:30 a.m. dinner is always the most popular and Brown encouraged people to get there early if they wanted to attend this one.
“Each year we’ve been able to provide a few sort of service that would check their blood pressure, check their glucose”.
Reimannova said last year’s dishes included turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, pumpkin pie and a strawberry cheesecake. “I think a lot of people like to do that”, Staben said.
“I’m so eternally grateful to them”, she said.
