Thanksgiving Weekend Gas Prices Lowest Since 2008
According to AAA about 47 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more this thanksgiving holiday.

Regular-grade gasoline prices continue to decline, and averaged $2.09 a gallon as of Monday, 73 cents less than this time past year.

Law enforcement and TripAdvisor report the least busiest days to travel back and forth from your holiday destinations are Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.
Among the reasons given for the travel increase are an improving economy and the cheapest gasoline for this time of year since 2008.
“Doesn’t cost you a lot to go far”, said Jody Zielinski.
And while the roads will be crowded, the good news is, it may not be as expensive to embark on the road trip thanks to falling gas prices.
Maguire said that AAA is noticing a trend of more people traveling earlier in the week. So she found herself taking a break from the 1,350-mile drive at a convenience store in the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore, where she marveled at the price of gas.
AAA Carolinas also says previous year, they helped out more than 11,000 stranded drivers because of dead batteries, flat tires and lockouts. “However, due to recent worldwide and national events passengers may see an increase in San Diego Harbor Police simply out of an abundance of caution”, said Rebecca Bloomfield, spokeswoman for San Diego global Airport.
“You’re going to have longer lines, not only in security with heightened security, but also just people checking in and checking bags”, says Chip Gentry with Montgomery Regional Airport.
As the holiday season progresses, American drivers can expect to receive more savings as a gift.
At Los Angeles global Airport, Cynthia Diaz, 45, an accounts receivable supervisor, was headed to Boise, Idaho, to visit her partner’s family. The Thanksgiving holiday travel period is defined as Wednesday, November 24 to Sunday, November 29.
