The 2017 Buick LaCrosse Looks Composed In The Flesh
With all the automakers trying to grab the attention of the attendees at the LA Auto Show, the 2017 Buick LaCrosse might have been outshined by a few of the more impressive models at the show but that does not mean that it has nothing to offer.
The all-new 2017 Buick LaCrosse has been heavily influenced by the dramatic cues of the Avenir concept. Boasting a new grille design up front with a large opening distinguished by the return of the red, silver and blue Buick tri-shield insignia, the front grille is further accented by wing-shaped elements set against darkened waterfall grille bars.
The 2017 Lacrosse is all-new: a more modern platform made it no less than 136 kilos lighter than the outgoing model. It is also built on a stronger yet lighter structure, so it weighs about 300 pounds less than its predecessor.
The biggest talking point, however, will be the LaCrosse’s sharp new look.
The 2017 Buick LaCrosse will be powered by a second-gen 3.6-liter V6 with standard Stop/Start technology and mated to a new eight-speed automatic.
The Lacrosse’s interior has also been thoroughly updated: the materials are much better, and the exterior sound has also been muffled with the help of soundproofing, laminated glass as well as an active noise cancellation system.
If the LaCrosse is any indication of that new face, Buick’s got a pretty handsome mug moving forward.
Safety features extend to automatic Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning alerts, Automatic Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Automatic Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Vision Camera.
“The new LaCrosse is drop-dead gorgeous and signals the next phase of Buick’s worldwide momentum”, said Duncan Aldred, vice-president of Global Buick.
