‘The Bachelor’ Finale Recap: Nick Viall is engaged to Vanessa Grimaldi
Nick Viall’s season of “The Bachelor” finally came to an end tonight as the two-time “Bachelorette” loser and “Bachelor In Paradise” star proposed to Vanessa Grimaldi and she accepted.
Nick’s search for his soul mate is nearly over, and after many tears, drama and surprises, it has come down to two fascinating women. I’m all-in for this spinoff of Raven and Bella seeking revenge on Nick and all the other shitty exes in the world. “I’m going to ask Vanessa to marry me”. “And believe me when I tell you, he knows that”. Isn’t that nice? They play Kiss Me over Nick and Raven’s ice skating date, and we’re all crying because shouldn’t love be this easy? “I think that Nick and Vanessa are both passionate people”, was the first line and gist of her answer.
At the end of the two days, the family vote was a tossup.
Will Nick choose Raven or Vanessa? Santa asked them for their wishlists, and Nick said love, while Vanessa said, “ending up happy with the person that I love”.
Nick had several temper tantrums throughout the season about whether or not he was even in love with any of the women. They then met Santa at a cabin for some reason (was this filmed in December? who knows) and Vanessa cuddled with Santa in the cabin, which was absolutely freaky. Like, she must have submitted her application without knowing what she was getting herself into.
Nick then meets with Raven for some much needed fun. Within five minutes of meeting Vanessa, Nick’s mom is full-on weeping.
Nick felt bad, but not bad enough.
I honestly wish Nick and Vanessa all the best. She is excited to do normal stuff, yet Nick is going on Dancing with the Stars after this.
Nick lets Raven go back into the sweet plains of Hoxie.
Rachel Lindsay, AKA, The Bachelorette, is happy for Nick. With that being said, the only Viall who doesn’t seem sold on Raven is Nick. Nick can’t be the first and last guy she has an orgasm with. Did I mention she has never looked better?
“I’ve been falling in love with her for a very long time”, Viall says in a preview of the season’s final moments. “I think my heart is somewhere else”, he said.
Now that it is clear who he chose, many still need to know if the pair are still together? Her “core values” bother me, partly because she keeps calling them “core values”, and partly because she had a guest spot on Blue Mountain State. However, they’re still in the process of getting to know each other.
Nick had a bit of a breakup hangover as he waited for Vanessa to arrive, sounding glum as he recalled his past failed proposals. But she does admit to Mama Mary that she’s not totally sure if she’s ready for this enormous finale proposal. Vanessa was definitely crushing on Nick and vice-versa. He smiled, told her she looked “great” and grabbed her into a hug. But Nick and Vanessa’s After the Final Rose was very awkward, proving that they may still be suffering from some of the same problems that plagued them all season long. As a Canadian from Montreal, she was hesitant about a long-distance future with Nick, as there were many things she wasn’t willing to give up – including her proximity to her family and the job she loves so much. There are surely pleasant moments we haven’t seen (in addition to the ones we have see), but Nick and Vanessa have disagreed nearly every time we’ve seen them together, and it sounds like they don’t get along great in private, either.
