The Blacklist Season 3 Recap: 3.8: Kings of the Highway
This Thursday on “The Blacklist”, Red finds himself in a unsafe situation which gets even more interesting when he is unexpectedly separated from Liz.
In a bid to find the Cabal, Red enlisted the task force to find The Djinn, a criminal who helped people fulfil their revenge fantasies.
Elsewhere in the episode Tom (Ryan Eggold) went undercover for Cooper (Harry Lennix) to pursue Karakurt and Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq) escaped from his kidnappers with Mr. Vargas (Paul Reubens) but was shot by Vargas when he revealed how to locate Red.
The next episode of the season is Arioch Cain. Red gets away, but Ressler is on Liz’s tail. She panics as she looks around and doesn’t see him.
Briefly, here’s how it went down: At the start of the hour, Liz and Red are making their way through rural West Virginia, where Red tells Liz their fugitive life “will be over soon” – a sure sign that things are about to go very, very wrong.
Dembe meets up with Red.
Red will also fall into a risky situation and get separated from Liz, as he calls her from a phone booth and says: “Liz, where are you?” The bureau may think that they can protect her, but we know that 90% of the time on these shows the cops are bad and the plan will be screwed up.
Meanwhile, Samar must make decide whether to trust Liz enough to assist her as Tom and Cooper continue to work to clear Liz’s name.
After realizing that Samar had done a search on Ressler’s laptop way early that morning, Aram is heartbroken to realize his crush slept with another agent. Cooper manages to wreck them – they drive to an underground tunnel, that way they won’t be able to track the chip in Karakurt. He has Adam search it and they discover Red’s phone number and his location. From there, the foursome heads to a cabin on Lake Yvonne where they’ll hide out for a while – and in case you’re wondering how Charlene has access to this cabin, which is owned by her next-door neighbor, it’s because she was cheating on Cooper before he got sick with fake-cancer. He leaves the mobile home they had him in with the keys to their truck, but the leader, Cash, comes up behind him with a gun.
The gang fights over Red and Cash is killed by his fellow gang member, who then negotiates with Liz for Red’s release. This fails when Cash says he’s willing to let her kill Jasper.
Ressler chases Liz deep into the woods, finally tackling her. He threatens to shoot her if she keeps resisting and, though she insists he would never fire on her, he promises otherwise.
The Seargent pays Agent Hicks a visit at her house, she realized that she worked with Solomon in Africa. But before Wright can ask too many questions, Hitchen pulls out a gun and shoots the woman right in her chest. “They are coming.” The promo ends with Liz running through a jungle with the Federal Bureau of Investigation following her and Ressler shouting: “Stop”.
“Elizabeth Keen, you are under arrest”.
