The Browns Star Bonnie Brown Battling Lung Cancer
Fans are hoping to see Bonnie Brown when she will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame later this year. “I have recently undergone tests to determine the best type of treatment for this frightful disease”. Her sibling, Jim Ed Brown, passed on from tumor in June before the kin could be enlisted into the Hall of Fame in October. As Jim Ed said at the announcement of our induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame earlier this year, ‘Cancer is no fun, ‘ and I agree.
In a statement issued to The Associated Press, Bonnie expresses her determination to overcome the illness and “live many more years”. Mourning the loss of one of the members of the group, the fans were actually expecting that Bonnie Brown would be part of the ceremony.
Other crossover hits would follow for The Browns, including “Scarlet Ribbons (for her hair)” and “The Old Lamplighter“.
NASH Country Weekly send our best wishes to Bonnie for a full recovery.
The announcement took many country music fans by surprise.
Jim Ed went into remission after being diagnosed with lung cancer. Bonnie and Maxine then quit the trio in 1967, leaving Jim Ed to pursue a solo career.
According to Yahoo news on Monday, Bonnie Brown has been diagnosed with stage four adenocarcinoma right lung cancer. His most recent album, In Style Again, was released in January.
Though Stage IV cancer is devastating news, Brown is keeping a positive attitude about the diagnosis.
