The ‘Cajun John Wayne’ goes viral again with harsh words for robber
In the videos Lt Higgins, who is the spokesman for the St Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office in Opelousas, stands with his hands on his belt buckle as he lectures wanted suspects about their misdemeanours.
“Look at me son, I’m talking to you” – Lieutenant Clay Higgins is not happy that his favourite burger joint was burgled.
“Congratulations, son – I’m about to make you famous”, he says.
“Stelly’s has been a local favorite for decades”, he continued. I’m talking to you.
Thanks to the Lt Higgins, whoever broke into Stelly’s Restaurant in Lebeau, Louisiana, earlier this month has no where left to hide after the no-nonsense cop laid down the law in terrifying fashion.
Dubbed by some media as the “Cajun John Wayne”, it would appear his message is getting through. The food here is good, and the folks are friendly. Whether the video is sponsored, in part, by Coca-Cola, though, there’s no doubting that Lt. Clay Higgins himself is a real guy-albeit one with a flawless name, accent, and attitude to be making these videos.
Lieutenant Higgins then said he was looking forward to solving the case and enjoying a cheeseburger and fries at Stelly’s, before leaving a generous tip.
Higgins was thrown into the spotlight back in May following a story published by the Washington Post. By tomorrow, a hundred thousand people will have watched you commit a felony.
The appeal by St Landry Crime Stoppers followed the incident on July 8.
‘You will be recognised, and the people that know you don’t really like you anyway, so when it comes down to a choice between you and a $1,000: They’ll take the cash.’.
But after reaching Reddit’s front page and racking up more than 5,200 ‘upvotes, ‘ the video has been received just over 720,000 views.
