The Champions League quarter-final draw has been made
England’s only representatives Leicester have been drawn against Atletico Madrid.
Premier League champions and quarter final debutantes Leicester City will be playing Atletico Madrid.
And several fans were looking forward to their side’s bid to avenge their UEFA Cup defeat to Atletico back in 1997…
Former Real Madrid great Casillas took to Twitter to laud the Slovenian, writing: “HERO”.
Leicester City were handed a tough draw, as they face off against Atletico Madrid in their first ever UEFA Champions League quarterfinal.
Although many will see Leicester as the weaker of the eight teams that remain in the competition, Zidane made it perfectly clear that he doesn’t fancy playing them.
Also in Friday’s draw, Barcelona will meet Juventus in a rematch of the 2015 final, Champions League newcomer Leicester will face Atletico Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund will take on Monaco.
First leg ties will be played on 11/12 April, with second legs to follow on 18/19 April. However, the damage had already been done as the hosts registered their 17th clean sheet in their last 21 Champions League home games. The sides have met in knockout ties on 10 previous occasions, winning five games apiece.
In other matches, Borussia Dortmund will play AS Monaco while Juventus are up against Barcelona.
But which team should be considered favourites to lift the big-eared trophy in Cardiff on Saturday June 3?
