The Defending National Basketball Association Champs Could Be Even Better This Year
The Warriors’ plus-100 point differential through the first four games of the season is an National Basketball Association record. Jordan is averaging 13.5 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game so far and shooting a whopping 82 percent from the floor.
Beal finished with 25 points and John Wall had 17 points and 13 assists for Washington.
Rockets (3-3) at Clippers (4-1) 10:30 P.M.: Like the Wizards, the Clippers will have to face the ghost of playoffs past when they take on James Harden and Co.
With the Toronto Raptors’ loss Friday night to the Orlando Magic, the Golden State Warriors are the only team in the league right now that is undefeated (6-0).
Featuring 17 lead changes (higher than any game last season), a Warriors third quarter collapse, and the customary double technical calls (this time awarded to Draymond Green and Chris Paul), this was truly a rollercoaster of a game. After the first quarter, Memphis led Golden State 22-21, but that was the last time the Grizzlies came within reach of the Warriors. Curry answered with his seventh 3-pointer of the night to give the defending champions the lead for good as they became the fifth team to start consecutive seasons with five straight wins. They took every punch in a game where Paul and Griffin played excellently and yet it wasn’t enough to beat the Warriors.
A preseason back-and-forth was sparked in October when Los Angeles coach Doc Rivers implied Golden State was lucky to not have faced his team or San Antonio in the postseason. Past year Douglas participated in 12 Pelican games and had an average of a little over four points a game, with two assists. Golden State’s first four wins all came by at least 16 points, including a 50-point drubbing of the Memphis Grizzlies.
Despite the victory, the Clippers were the first true test the Warriors had this 2015-16 season. He especially tormented the Pelicans, scoring 40 against them on Opening Night and 53 more Saturday night.
“When we really needed him most, he stepped up for us”, interim head coach Luke Walton said of Curry.
CLIPPERS CENTER DEANDRE JORDAN “I think we can compete with not just them, but anyone”. From there, Los Angeles clawed their way back, using an 11-0 run to cut the deficit to single digits, as the two sides headed into halftime with Golden State holding a 63-56 advantage.
“You just try to keep your focus and know there’s going to be that opportunity to get back into it”.
We had a lot of game-plan mistakes throughout the game.
