The Faces Reform For Hurtwood Show
The band will play a short set at the Rock “n” Horsepower charity event at Hurtwood Park Polo Club in Ewhurst, Surrey, which is owned by Jones.
Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones perform on stage at the “Fashion Rocks” concert held at Radio City Music Hall on September 8, 2004 in New York City. “Faces slowed down the pace with a cover of Etta James” “I’d Rather Go Blind” before picking the energy up on their rendition of The Temptations’ “(I Know) I’m Losing You”. This past January, Stewart, Wood and Jones played a few songs together in tribute to McGlagan, but that reunion was fairly private, since it took place at Stewart’s birthday party in his Beverly Hills home.
A version of the Faces did tour in 2011, with Mick Hucknall filling in for Stewart and Glen Matlock for Laine. Stewart, however, was struck down with the flu, and was forced to cancel. “Shattered that I’m going to miss my second induction … this time alongside my mates”. Speaking after the gig which was in aid of Prostate Cancer United Kingdom, Kenney, 66, stated: “If we decide to take it any further there is each one chance we could do it. We would love to”.
The Faces formed in the wake of the Small Faces’ split in 1969, releasing four studio LPs and one live album.
Most recently, Stewart has found a fan in rapper A$AP Rocky, who enlisted the rock artist on his single Everyday.
