Almost two hours into the debate, Clinton and Sanders each had around 23 minutes, followed by Martin O’Malley and Jim Webb with around 13 and Lincoln Chaffee with 7.

CNN debate moderator Juan Carlos Lopez noted that Nevada – where the debate was being held – is going to have a measure to legalize recreational pot on the 2016 ballot, and asked Sanders how he would vote.
Sanders received the biggest applause of the night when the subject turned to Clinton’s private email server and her testimony next week before Congress.
Clinton’s raised eyebrows when she said that, as New York senator, she told Wall Street to “cut it out”. In light of those things, Clinton suggested she was eager to move on to “talking about the issues that matter to the American people”. Lopez noted that Clinton had previously said she wanted to “wait and see what the evidence is” for recreational marijuana after Colorado and Washington – the two states where it is now fully legalized – had done sufficient test runs with their laws.
“Let me say something that may not be great politics, but I think the secretary is right”, he said.
He and Clinton shook hands, and there were cheers in Las Vegas, and at a pro-Sanders debate party at the University of Vermont in Burlington.
Yahoo News asked Podesta whether the Clinton campaign was “grateful” to Sanders for his comments.
“That was definitely an applauding moment because I agree with that”, she said. “I’m sick of it”.
It did appear that Cooper was limiting the speaking time for a few of the candidates on the stage, particularly the ones not named Sanders or Clinton. He described his remarks as “kind of a spontaneous response”.
Clinton expresses her love for Denmark, which Sanders praises for its social benefits.
She delivered the memorable line of the night when it came to her support for the Keystone pipeline: “I never took a position on Keystone until I took a position”.
Sanders also stated America needs to rethink the War on Drugs, which he said “has done an enormous amount of damage” in terms of “ruining lives” over small offences.
“I would not be so quick to pull for a military tool”, said O’Malley, distancing himself from Clinton on foreign policy. “Wall Street regulates Congress”, Sanders said.
