The First Gameplay Footage From An Unannounced South Park Xbox Game
An unannounced and unreleased South Park game has been found on a debug original Xbox console, and it looks like it might have been an interesting combination of South Park characters and Grand Theft Auto.
In a video game history buff will be able to tell you, such a game did not ship at all – which means it never made it to store shelves.
The build is apparently the work of Buzz Monkey Games, a small Oregon-based studio which was later gobbled up by Zynga and rebranded as Zynga Eugene.
The open world game features all of the potty-mouthed, shocking boys and a giant recreation of the titular South Park fragmented by poor draw distance.
Other, less-complete sections showcase systems not yet built into the main game.
While the game was clearly in development, it provides some sense of where the developers were going here. But from the scant gameplay available it becomes apparent that the South Park game was similar to the popular 2003 GTA clone, The Simpsons: Hit & Run.
