‘The Flash’ Recap: Biggest Misleading Title Ever
Much of the fun came from Team Flash’s attempt to groom Linda to take the place of her evil doppelganger. This is a dude that’s shown to be at just a straight-up higher level than Barry’s at, and it totally works.
The episode ends with Zoom taking Barry back to S.T.A.R. Labs. And then just as we’re getting comfortable with it all, they absolutely destroy him.
“The idea of telling her is bouncing around in his head in the near future, but he doesn’t really know how to approach it”, the 25-year-old “Glee” alum added. Will Barry decide to tell her the truth? Unfortunately, Zoom catches the lightning bolt and throws it right back. The vision gets him up close and personal to Zoom and his hostage, Wells’s daughter. The guys are all onboard with everything but Caitlyn thinks it’s too risky.
This guessing led to a couple of theories from “The Flash” fanatics, and one of the suspects is Tom Cavanaugh’s Harrison Wells. I also loved that Joe is like “Meh”, when it comes to trusting him. Joe wants to find Jay, but Barry would rather go on offense.
– Wells’ final scene talking about his daughter. Barry tells her he believes in her, and she’s one of the strongest women he knows.
Patty: “Yeah, I might need a little reminder soon”.
I was curious last week what Linda’s role on the season was going to be, because she’s appeared in a numerous amount of episodes thus far, but the fact that they “tried” to make her a Dr. Light double was a joke. It’s one of the things I love about The Flash, its willingness to allow science and intelligence to become as vital to saving the day as the superpowers. Barry follows through by going over to Patty and kissing her deeply, but considering how long it took to get here, this is officially the most unsafe therapy session you could have thought up, Barry. Her clothes are on the floor and Cisco realizes that she went invisible once he opens the containment cell. The only family’s she’s ever had is her dad and Barry, her pseudo-brother, and now she might have a real brother, so there’s a new relationship that has to be developed and that takes time, that’s going to cause a little bit of friction for Iris in determining how she’s going to start a new relationship with someone she’s related to but doesn’t really know.
Meanwhile, Cisco seems to be embracing his burgeoning metahuman abilities by trying to get a vibe off of Wells. After learning about the Earth Two villain from Jay Garrick and Harrison Wells, Barry does not want to deal with another Reverse-Flash and is prepared to do anything to take him down. He tells him to chase what he wants. She’s bummed that she can’t write a story about everything that happened the last few days. Linda throws Barry’s emblem into the breach – but nothing happens. Linda has been cooking to stay occupied.
Will Iris seek her mom Francine (Vanessa Williams) out again? Possibly, but I’d guess not; the writers clearly still aren’t sure how to incorporate Iris into the team, so I imagine Linda would just exacerbate the problem. The test continues with a series of unfortunate events until she is finally able to complete the challenge. “It’s as good of a plan as any“, he says. Barry says yes and Joe rushes after Barry to ask him why he’s pushing the plan. Also, in the handful of modern appearances that Clariss made, his “speed energy” was the same blue that we see Zoom exhibiting. Linda feels bad about her performance.
Linda wasn’t really prepared to pull this fake-out off, yet Barry insisted that she go through with it. Joe theorized it was because Barry felt “cheated” out of not conquering Reverse Flash himself, which is why he’s so focused on besting Zoom. He eases up, though, when Cisco reveals that Zoom has Wells’ daughter. Caitlin is concerned with Dr. Light’s reversal. Patty first thinks that Joe is a dirty cop but he tells her he isn’t and he just needs time. He is always the voice of reason, even when Barry has a hard time hearing him.
Welcome back to Collider’s recap show for The Flash. They go through a hilarious showdown where the script isn’t being carried out properly.
