The Flash Spoiler: Robbie Amell Returns But He’s Not Firestorm Anymore

The CW has announced that Robbie Amell will be returning to the The Flash, but to reprise a different version of his character, Ronnie Raymond aka Firestorm. On Earth-2, Ronnie Raymond and Caitlin Snow are still a couple – but as Deathstorm and Killer Frost wreak a lot more havoc than the Ronnie and Caitlin we know from our Earth. Further details about the project, including its title and plot, are not yet known. While Earth-1 Ronnie sacrificed himself in the season premiere back in October, the Ronnie we will be meeting is from Earth-2, and instead of being the heroic Firestorm, he is going to be the villainous Deathstorm, a very big deal in the Firestorm mythology.

Looks like Caitlin and Ronnie are still an item in Earth Two, and according to EW, Ronnie will be Firestorm’s evil incarnation: Deathstorm. Showrunner Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly, “You can’t keep a good Firestorm down”.

In the DC Comics universe, Ronnie Raymond became Deathstorm after being resurrected during the events of Blackest Night.

Should be interesting to see Amell and Danielle Panabaker (who plays Caitlin) be evil for once. I always wondered the possibilities of the show’s protagonists meeting their Earth-Two doubles, and The Flash is taking advantage of that in an awesome way.

The Flash airs Tuesday nights at 8:00 pm on The CW, with new episodes returning January 19.
