The Force Awakens Theme to Your Google Experience
There are likely tons of hidden Star Wars goodies in your Google apps that we haven’t discovered yet, so get out there and explore before the program ends whole program ends on February 1, 2016. Once you’ve picked a side (the dark side was worryingly popular in The Verge’s offices), Google starts updating your apps. Created by Lucasfilm, Industrial Light & Magic Experience Lab (ILMxLAB) and Skywalker Sound alongside Google and Verizon the Star Wars: The Force Awakens VR experience will be released on Wednesday 2nd December 2015.
This comes as director J.J. Abrams announced over the weekend that he has put the finishing touches on “The Force Awakens”, and that the film is officially in the can. The changes are minimal, but fans will notice the progress, volume, and page-loading bars on the online video site turn into glowing lightsabers.
There are far more apps with Star Wars additions-12 at this writing-including Android Wear, Chromecast, Google Translate, and Waze.

Not surprisingly, Google has a few Stars Wars fans working at the company and they’ve been cooking up ideas ever since the new episode was confirmed, according to Google product management VP Clay Bavor. The functionality of Google apps will not be affected-though on the surface, there’ll be a whole lot of Star Wars.
“They looked at the stories, and they said we want to make something for the fans”, Lucas told CBS. However that’s not all as Google has also promised that there will be more features added as we get closer to the release date of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Coming soon will be a virtual reality version of the Millennium Falcon within Google Cardboard and there are apparently several easter eggs in various Google products.
