The Force Awakens Will Address Leia Organa By A New Formal Title
Leia Organa won’t answer to “Princess” anymore, as of Star Wars: The Force Awakens – and I suppose her new title might count as a spoiler, so if you care about that sort of thing, don’t read on! Directed by J.J. Abrams, who co-wrote the script with Lawrence Kasdan, the seventh installment of the Star Wars saga opens in theaters on December 16 in France, in the United Kingdom on December 17, and in the USA on December 18, 2015. “I know your eyes”. “I had this pitch about the goggles that she wore”, says Abrams. He added, “Her history is that she was a pirate for a long time”. We see TIE fighters, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) handing Rey his gun while telling her “You might need this”, Solo himself blasting a few unknown assailants alongside Chewbacca, and Finn (John Boyega) battling against a Stormtrooper. Abrams revealed he’s just another fan of the Star Wars series. No one’s talking about her, until now.
The past fortnight has been a big one for JJ Abrams and his team, with a massive Entertainment Weekly feature on The Force Awakens revealing new secrets from the set.
Remember when, a week ago, a bunch of Star Wars actors tweeted out a bunch of brand-new character posters in which nearly everyone had their right eye covered? It’s called “The Force Awakens” for a reason, and I’m sure its context is Luke-centric.
For Nyong’o, performance-capture was a new adventure, but she had support from co-star Andy Serkis (Supreme Leader Snoke), who is a vet after roles in The Lord of the Rings and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
The first installment in a new trilogy, “The Force Awakens” also sees the return of other original “Star Wars” trilogy stars Carrie Fisher (Leia), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) and Kenny Baker (R2-D2).
