Annotated by commentary from Smithsonian curators, George Lucas, costumers, and actors including Carrier Fisher about her famous Princess Leia slave bikini, this exhibit discusses the history of how the preparation of the films shaped the costumes and, in turn, how the costumes ultimately shaped the films. When visitors come, they’ll see the unique behind the scenes stories through original influences like Japanese Samurai culture and World War II military attire.

So without further ado, please feel free to enjoy our photo gallery, featuring much of what was on display at the Star Wars and the Power of Costume exhibition – and may the force be with you, always!
