‘The Last Ship’ delays season premiere because of Orlando similarities
But “as a result of the shootings this weekend in Orlando”, it “has been postponed”, TNT said in a statement.
The shooting in Orlando left about 50 dead and dozens injured.
TNT delayed Sunday night’s scheduled third-season premiere of its drama The Last Ship, which includes a nightclub shooting, in the wake of the massacre in Orlando, Florida, earlier in the day.
The shooting has been labeled the largest mass shooting in USA history. The team went on to say their thoughts are with the families and friends of the victims and they went on to dedicate the entire ceremony to them. There has not been any announcement made as to when the two hour debut for Season 3 will be aired.
There is no word yet on how this may or may not affect the show’s schedule this season.
TNT instead reran the last two episodes of Season 2.
The scene was trimmed out of the show, and its premiere was delayed by one week. Also, Captain Slattery and his crew deliver a cure to Southeast Asia, but they might be heading toward an unforeseen threat.
Meanwhile, Heavy published the plot for “The Last Ship” season 3 episode 1, which reads, “Chandler is sent to Asia to probe a possible mutation of the Red Flu in the Season 3 opener”.
