The Late Show with Stephen Colbert drops some hilarious new promos

“I can’t wait to start hosting The Late Show starting September 8 on CBS”, Colbert says in the first of three promos posted to the official Late Show YouTube page.

Stephen Colbert is preparing for his return to late night, and he’s got the help of a former republican presidential candidate. “I’ll talk about the news, tell jokes and have fascinating conversations with celebrities, athletes, musicians and, of course, politicians”.

He also debuted a weeklong web series, Stephen Colbert Has Daily Lunch With You starring Stephen Colbert.

When Romney insists, “I’m Mitt Romney“, Colbert replies, “That is it. Keep in character”.

Two shorter advertisements function Colbert by himself doing a card trick and appearing as if he’s headed to high school with a “Charlie Rose Trapper Keeper”.

There literally could not be a better time for Stephen Colbert to take over from David Letterman.
