The Lone Gunmen will return for new season of The X-Files
Actor Dean Haglund confirmed today on Twitter that The Lone Gunman, a sort of paranoid conspiracy theorist A-Team featured in a recurring basis on The X-Files and briefly in their own spinoff series, will be returning to the franchise when the series revival airs in early 2016. Haglund played Richard “Ringo” Langly, a computer hacker and science fiction enthusiast who was the youngest member of the iconic trio.
The trio appeared in more than 30 episode of The X-Files between 1994 and 2002, and they even toplined their own short-lived spin-off titled The Lone Gunmen in 2001 (though it was cancelled after only 13 episodes).
But wait, you’re probably thinking the same thing we are: the Lone Gunmen died in season nine of the hit Fox series. You can see 15-seconds of all-new footage below.
“The X-Files” originally premiered on FOX in September 1993.
Luckily, bringing them back to life isn’t all that hard to do. The Lone Gunmen will feature in The X-Files revival!!!
They’re just the latest veterans of the show to join the new, six-episode incarnation alongside returning stalwarts David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi and William B. Davis. New faces include Joel McHale, The Americans’ Annet Mahendru, Flight of the Conchords’ Rhys Darby, Silicon Valley’s Kumail Nanjiani, The Flash’sRobbie Amell and Six Feet Under’s Lauren Ambrose.
