‘The Man in the High Castle’ is Amazon’s Most-Streamed Original Series?
“The Man in the High Castle” is Amazon’s most-streamed original series, according to the streaming service.
Though perhaps The Man in the High Castle was not the most staggering show from the vantage of style, acting or even pacing, it was heavily – and controversially – advertised. (Im looking at you Red Oaks.) Amazon original programs dont have as much prominence as Netflix shows at this point in terms of media coverage and overall subscriptions, but its hard to tell from press releases like this how much each show stacks up.
Amazon has not revealed any specific numbers. However, with the popularity of Netflix’s original series, it’s nice to see that there appears to be another real competitor in the market besides HBO.
Amazon Studios has a new top show. With a second season in the works, the show promises to grow even more successful. Nor do we have any idea how The Man in the High Castle stacks up when compared to the likes of Daredevils overall viewership. That largely comes down to the fact that the company tested the waters for The Man in the High Castle in January of 2015, when it released the pilot, before debuting the remaining nine episodes in November. It was created by Frank Spotnitz of X-Files fame, and stars Alexa Davalos, Luke Kleintank, Rufus Sewell, Rupert Evans, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Joel de la Fuente and DJ Qualls. The series is available through the Amazon Prime video app on connected TVs and other devices and can be downloaded for mobile consumption on iOS or Android-enabled devices.
The first season of The Man in the High Castle was based on a Philip K. Dick book of the same name which presents an alternate reality in which the Nazis won World War II. The show is available in US, UK, Germany, and Austria on Amazon Prime.
