The Many Faces Of Robert De Niro
Earlier this week, Anne Hathaway stepped out with smoldering eye makeup and a sexy Rodarte dress that had everyone talking, and last night she continued her sexy but demure streak with another killer look.
Brockes wrote: “He then pops up out of his chair, starts pacing madly and says he’s cutting short the interview because of the “negative inference” of what I just said”.
That’s basically what writer/director/producer Nancy Meyers has to say to her fans, who have waited six years for her new project, the Robert De Niro/Anne Hathaway comedy “The Intern”.
This is the first movie Nancy Meyers has worked with composer Theodore Shapiro, who did the music for “The Intern“.
That person is her 70-year-old intern Ben (Robert De Niro) and their often comic collision and ultimate understanding is a large part of what makes “The Intern” hum. “But, until now, I’ve made a lot of my movies from a place of insecurity and self-doubt”. She was prepping here in New York [and] living here, and would come to the office a lot [and] sit in on meetings, [and] sometimes she would even act with the people auditioning.
Refusing to respond, Quentin said bluntly: “I’m not your slave and you’re not my master …”
Added De Niro: “It is what it is”. They’ve changed the way we communicate with each other.
Ben’s a company guy who has found the combination of retirement and being widowed boring, and relishes this opportunity to get back into the working world, even if it’s an unfamiliar one.
