The Medical Director of Yorkville Endoscopy Fired After the Death of Joan Rivers
After the tragic death of the legendary comedian, Joan Rivers, the Yorkville Endoscopy’s medical director has been fired. The throat procedure turned out to be unexpected.
Earlier this month, Joan died while she was under undergoing throat procedure. Her breathing was blocked and she was rushed to hospital. She went under coma, doctors tried a lot but finally they have to give up. The ABC News on September 12, 2014, through a tweet confirmed that the medical director has been fired after the incident.
The ABC News through the tweet stated that “Medical director of Yorkville Endoscopy where Joan Rivers went to cardiac arrest is out”, it added “He is no longer performing procedures at the clinic.”
Dr. Lawrence Cohen resigned from the role after being asked by the administrative to step down on August 28, 2014. However, he is not being accused of unlawful activity till now. An investigation is still going on and will release the report soon.
As previously reported the actress and the host of ‘Fashion Police’ stopped breathing on August 28, and was announced dead on September 4, after a week. She was been treated in Mount Sinai Hospital, New York City. The report by New York Daily News later informed that the reason behind was an unplanned throat biopsy.
The report says that Joan Rivers “a diagnostic procedure (to) see why her voice had gotten raspy.” The doctors diagnosed something in the vocal cord of Joan. The doctor who came along with Joan tried to perform biopsy, which eventually caused her death.
Whatever be the cause of Joan Rivers’ tragic death, it is a truth that Hollywood lost one of its most charismatic comedic personality. We will miss you Joan forever. Hollywood will never forget a star like you who has given a great period of her life to enrich Hollywood by her exclusive talents.
