The Morning After: Donald Trump Rails On ‘Dishonorable’ Ted Cruz
Trump’s plunge into a lengthy litigation of past spats with Ted Cruz – even bringing up his retweet of an unflattering photo of Cruz’s wife, Heidi – did nothing to assuage Republican fears about their standard bearer after a national convention complicated by unforced errors.
Cruz, who came in second to Trump in the race for the Republican nomination after a bitter and personal campaign, was booed by delegates at the gathering in Cleveland on Wednesday night when he stopped short of endorsing Trump in a high-profile speech. As the senator told angry members of the Texas delegation the day after the speech, he is not a “servile puppy dog” that is eager to please.
“It was just painful”. “And, when he said that, the place erupted, it was exactly what we needed to hear”. Charles Perry of Lubbock said in an interview Thursday on Lubbock radio.
It’s no surprise that Ivanka Trump might choose to wear something from her own brand, which includes clothing, accessories, shoes and fragrances.
Of course, it is not the first time the polarizing Cruz has rubbed fellow Republicans, even some in his home state, the wrong way.
Do you like Trump more or less these days?
The intra-party discord comes as Cruz charts a political future that depends on, at a minimum, winning re-election two years from now. But in his convention address, Donald did very little to challenge Republican taboos.
Several Georgia Republicans attending the rally said the continued discord hurts the party, but few pointed fingers at Cruz.
“I do not consider myself a Republican or a Democrat”, she said. The ad was put out by a PAC with no official ties to the Cruz campaign, but Trump said Friday that he doesn’t buy that. “If this were all for politics, none of this would’ve happened”.
Perhaps most revealing after Cruz’s speech, though, was the relative silence from Lt. Gov.
Never in the history of a political convention has a nominee said the country would move forward with scapegoating, Clinton declared.
Clinton’s campaign aims to use the convention to try and rectify both problems. “I believe that is my conscience”.
If Trump is defeated in November, Cruz will have a head start on his competition next election cycle. She said she was raised to express her opinion.

The Cruz campaign did not comment for this story. Abbott was forced toskip the convention due to burns he suffered earlier this month on a family vacation.
A number of Cruz’s Republican colleagues in the Texas congressional delegation were keeping their distance as well.
“You are bound by the speech and bound by the pledge”, Trump said referencing a pledge the GOP candidates signed saying they would support the eventual nominee. Women represent 46 percent of the total US labor force, and 40 percent of American households have female primary breadwinners. Pete Sessions of Dallas, who supported Jeb Bush in the primary and endorsed Trump shortly after he became the presumptive nominee.
Cruz was given a speaking slot, though he had indicated he wasn’t going to offer an endorsement. “I am not in the habit of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my family”, Cruz said. “Last night’s speech took it to a whole new level”.
“He made a mistake”, Perry, a former Cruz supporter, said Thursday on Fox Business Network. But there was a Trump who made overtures to the wider electorate, with friendly language and – in the context of a Republican convention – gutsy policies.
But “Ted Cruz took his speech that was done, was on the teleprompter, said hello, then made a statement that wasn’t on the speech and then went back to his speech”, he said. “It’s because he has no choice”, Trump added.
