The morning after: Trump fires back at Megyn Kelly

Challenged on his past associations with the Clintons, Trump said the only reason Hillary was at his marriage ceremony is because he gave her foundation cash money: “Well, I’ll tell you what, with Hillary Clinton, I said be at my wedding and she came to my wedding”.

He was back on TV Friday morning, telling the morning talk shows he couldn’t recall insulting women in the past – rejecting the premise of a debate question posed by Fox News’ Megyn Kelly.

Trump also defended Friday his refusal to rule out an independent bid for the White House should he lose the Republican nomination.

On President Obama, he said: “I would say he’s incompetent, but I don’t want to do that because it’s not nice”.

Trump also expressed confidence about the future of his campaign, citing his poll numbers and saying he believes he handily won the debate.

He answered by joking that he only said that about actress Rosie O’Donnell and stating that political correctness was one of the country’s biggest problems. But the tables were turned later when Mr Trump later revealed he had donated money to nearly all of the candidates on the podium, sparking an awkward moment for them.
