The new theme: A Hillary Clinton grandma who is lovable

In a week when Hillary Clinton claimed her party’s nomination, delegates expressed satisfaction with Obama’s leadership, and confidence that he’s leaving the country better than he found it. The early days saw plenty of bashing focused on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, but also passionate speeches extolling Clinton’s virtues from firebrand Sanders, elegant first lady Michelle Obama and folksy former President Bill Clinton.

However, critiques highlighting party differences lead swiftly into a critique of Trump’s acumen as a businessman and fellow billionaire, and as a character witness to Clinton’s abilities as a Senator who worked with and disagreed with Bloomberg while he was Mayor of NY. And on Tuesday night, her husband shared some of the other lesser-known but equally impressive passages of her career, in great personal detail.

So now the theme is lovable Hillary Clinton grandma, huh? Chelsea Clinton then introduced Hillary the mother.

The two women, New Yorkers of similar ages with high-profile parents, have been friendly in the past.

In addition to the statement, Trump tweeted several additional criticisms of Clinton. Still, she added, “There’s certainly tremendous intensity around both of our lives right now”.

According to a Gallup poll released Monday, 57 percent of Americans had an unfavorable view of Clinton, the lowest rating in 24 years of her national career. “I’m proud to stand by our allies in North Atlantic Treaty Organisation against any threat they face, including from Russian Federation”, she said, in a denunciation of Mr. Trump’s position that the terms of the alliance needs to be reworked.

She attacked his business acumen, saying he cheated American workers out of the money he owed them.

In response to Obama’s speech, many leading conservative voices noted on Twitter the president’s apparent appeal to Republicans, which included among other things citing former GOP presidents Ronald Reagan and Teddy Roosevelt.

“Crooked Hillary Clinton made up facts about me, and “forgot” to mention the many problems of our country, in her very average scream!”

“If you remember Harry Reid lied about it, he told a dirty lie”, Trump said.

But some Democrats are less interested. And even in the midst of crisis, she listens to people and she keeps her cool and she treats everybody with respect. Millions of Americans see through the bogus anti-Hillary frames and will show up to vote for her with passion and enthusiasm.
