The next Far Cry game is set in the Ice Age
IGN Turkey revealed Far Cry Primal prior to Ubisoft announcing it, which caused the publication to pull its story.
The name Far Cry Primal was revealed by the IGN Turkey Twitter account which has since been suspended. The gaming firm has Tweeted four teasers, which are based around prehistoric cave paintings, including animations of such drawings, its most recent Tweet was just three hours ago.
Is the publisher about to unveil a few sort of pre-historic Far Cry offering, or perhaps even a completely new IP? The video could also be a bigger picture to Ubisoft’s multiplayer game “For Today”, an RPG game taking place in the medieval time zone. If it turns out to be a new title for consoles, we’ll be sure to bring you the official announcement as soon as it drops.
It’s been nearly a year since Far Cry 4 released and left players fighting for survival again and gamers are more than ready for another installment in the survival action franchise. Primal may well be another spin-off, given its lack of a number, paving the way to Far Cry 5 in 2017 or beyond.
There’s nearly been too many leaks to count, but Kotaku was one of the first, with talk of woolly mammoths, sabre-toothed tigers, and “tribal combat using bows and spears”. A date or time for the announcement hasn’t been mentioned, but with the broadcast now sitting on Ubisoft’s home page, we might not have long to wait.
