The Normal One: Jurgen Klopp Shades Jose Mourinho On Arrival Liverpool?
“I’m really a normal football manager. I’m the normal one”.
And former Liverpool boss Dalglish explained why Liverpool supporters will take to Klopp, whose three-year contract is worth a reported £15m.
I am a totally normal guy, I come from the Black Forest, my mother might be watching this on the TV.
The German, who has signed a three-year deal to succeed Brendan Rodgers, outlined his title ambitions and vowed to bring “full throttle” football to Anfield. I don’t like saying that because it’s Liverpool, I’m anxious about it. No, but he’ll do well’. I have the first and the last word. It’s discussing on the very highest level, I hope. “So it is not a normal or usual club, it’s a special club and I had two very very special clubs with Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund, and this now, it is a flawless next step for me to be here”. Klopp’s first test will come in the form of Premier League game against high-flying Tottenham at White Hart Lane on 17th October.
It’s a tall order Klopp faces with Liverpool, a club struggling to ascend back to the top of the table and to compete for a Premier League title.
“It was not a problem for 10 seconds”.
“It’s been insane here”, he said.
“They have to feel they can reach the expectation of the fans, the press”.
Klopp called for patience, pleading: “Please give us time”.
“No, we have the possibility to write a new story if we want”.
“If I sit here in four years I am pretty confident we will have one title”, he said.
‘I was a very average player and became a trainer in Germany with a special club. Then they can talk about the game or the next game and that’s how I want to live.
“There were a few changes yesterday but it is about moving forward and there are no plans at this stage other than for Jurgen to get together with his staff and take it from there”. “Klopp will be joined by Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz, who will assist him as senior members of the Reds’ coaching staff”. He also thanked Liverpool’s American owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) for appointing him and said he was happy to work with their transfer committee, which oversees the club’s recruitment strategy.
