The OnePlus 5 is the company’s next smartphone
Moving on to the speculative side of things, the OnePlus 5 recently showed up on Chinese retailer OppoMart’s website.
The smartphone you should be talking about is coming.
The number four is actually considered unlucky in Chinese culture, and OnePlus is based out of China.
The OnePlus 5 will be the fifth smartphone device that the company will be making, but it doesn’t have anything to do with the name.
The back of the OnePlus 5 smartphone was also seen in the listing, with a vertical dual camera setup. Will it finally add water and dust resistance? The company is expected to announce its next flagship quite soon and here we have some of the specifications that the phone will come with.
The report said that the device will feature a 5.5-inch QHD display and have a resolution of 2,560×1,440.
The listing also mentions the price of United States $ 688, but these websites usually sell low stock phones for a premium.
The handset is also listed with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and 6GB of RAM and there will apparently be two storage options, 64GB and 128GB. On the front, the phone is likely to come packed with the 16-megapixel shooter that OnePlus 3T sports. That’s not a lot of money for the kind of specs, which includes 8GB of RAM. That is very much possible for most of the smartphones which have already come out or are yet to come out will sport a dual-lens camera.
With the news that the OnePlus 5 launches in the summer, I couldn’t help but wonder if the company has become your go-to for your daily driver. No particular dates were given, but expect it sometime around mid-June as that’s the time the OnePlus 3 debuted. Interestingly, the Weibo post also mentioned that the OnePlus 5T will debut even faster charging than the OnePlus 3T, all thanks to Dash Charge 2.0. A latest report suggests that the OnePlus 5 will start shipping June 2017 onwards, which means that the June launch timeframe is “almost” confirmed. Given OnePlus tends to play in the mid-premium range, the pricing should be in the Rs 30,000-Rs 35,000 rang when the phone comes to India.
