Like Hollywood’s Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the British film academy says it will work to make sure its 6,500 voting members become a more diverse group.

“Throughout the 90’s Corizon Visual Network peacefully protested the BAFTA awards due to the lack of diversity and opportunity within the film/ TV industry”, the group wrote on their Facebook page. In an interview with BBC, Winslet said, “I feel very strongly that it may possibly be Leo’s year”.
