Like Hollywood’s Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the British film academy says it will work to make sure its 6,500 voting members become a more diverse group.
“Throughout the 90’s Corizon Visual Network peacefully protested the BAFTA awards due to the lack of diversity and opportunity within the film/ TV industry”, the group wrote on their Facebook page. In an interview with BBC, Winslet said, “I feel very strongly that it may possibly be Leo’s year”. Never one to play it safe on the red carpet, the Carol star has stolen the show in a dream of a dress, with a feathered skirt and embellished bodice.
