The spy-satellite secrets in Hillary’s emails
Clinton’s lawyers have also turned over a thumb drive that they say contains all the same emails she has already handed to the State Department.
The news came shortly after an inspector general told a congressional panel investigating Clinton’s emails that at least five emails from the server contained classified information.
Following a request from the State Department at the end of past year, Hillary Clinton has turned over close to 55,000 pages of emails, everything in her possession that was related to the job. Her presidential campaign acknowledged the turnover Tuesday as part of what it said was an effort to cooperate with an FBI inquiry into the security of Clinton’s email setup.
“I am confident that I never sent or received any information that was classified at the time it was sent and received”, she said at an event in Iowa last month.
Clinton’s e-mails have been under scrutiny since it was revealed that she used a private server in her home to send and receive messages when she was secretary of state.
It is a twist in the long running conflict between Clinton at the government over her use of a private email server.
She’s been forced to do something she vowed she wouldn’t – turn the server over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
“It doesn’t appear that Platte River Networks did anything wrong by supporting Hillary Clinton’s email server”, he said. The former secretary of State has also directed her staffers to release her server to federal investigators.
The State Department previously had said it was comfortable with Kendall keeping the emails at his Washington law office.
But, now that Clinton is turning her server over to legal agencies, the democratic front-runner for president is fighting a 2 front battle.
Campaign communications director Jennifer Palmieri crafted a Medium post Wednesday that warns the public against “misinformation” being dispersed regarding Clinton’s personal email system, alleging that there exists “no criminal inquiry” into Clinton’s email.
Hillary Clinton has testified that the server was wiped clean of more than 31,000 emails that involved personal matters such as wedding plans, vacations and details regarding physical conditioning and workouts.
A Denver, Colorado-based reseller has apparently been sucked into the drama surrounding Hillary Clinton’s private emails. The State Department disputes that the emails were classified at the time.
In the meantime, Clinton’s team “has worked with the State Department to ensure her emails are stored in a safe and secure manner”, Merrill said.
Republicans jumped on Tuesday’s decision to change course, as well as the additional disclosure that two emails that traversed Clinton’s personal system were subsequently given one of the government’s highest classification ratings.
