The Ted Cruz-Marco Rubio smackdown
Foreign Policy Initiative co-founder Dan Senor broke down the strengths and weaknesses of the 2016 Republican presidential candidates Monday, noting the experience, confidence, and youth of Sens.
In the past couple of GOP debates, all of the candidates seemed to be desperately fumbling over one another as to who could look more like an outsider.
Both have a pet issue with which to hit each other.
Shortly after answering the question, Cruz was also asked about Planned Parenthood and how he would get rid of the organization.
“I think he’s an even bigger egomaniac than Barack Obama”.
“I think that would be fine, as far as I’m concerned. I’m very glad we don’t have 17”.
Ted Cruz has a message for sexuality active voters (or aspiring ones): Republicans aren’t “the condom police”.
Though he has received endorsements from 11 House Republicans, with six from his home state of Texas, Cruz has yet to pull in a USA senator endorsement.
Cruz began highlighting Rubio’s backing of a Senate-backed comprehensive immigration bill that would have opened up an eventual path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants in the country – what Cruz has called a “massive amnesty plan”. With these things in mind, seniors Republican senators have chose to endorse Marco Rubio. “I would suspect Cruz sees that as a badge of honor”, Hagle said.
“Senator Rubio emphatically supported Hillary Clinton in toppling [Muammar] Qaddafi in Libya”.
“I stand strongly on behalf of the ability of this government to gather intelligence on our adversaries and our enemies, especially terrorists, but also other nation states. If it’s keeping America safe, we should do it. If it’s making America more vulnerable, we shouldn’t do it”. And there are Republicans – including Sen.
While the Cruz ad is not the first campaign the program has undertaken, Sarkic said it is more aggressive than past ones. “That is just part of the record, it is nothing personal”.
Cruz went on to deny that accessing contraceptives was an issue that needed to be addressed, telling the crowd, “Last I checked we don’t have a rubber shortage in America”. “And it’s a great example when the war on women came up, Republicans would curl up in a ball, they’d say, ‘Don’t hurt me.’ Jiminy Cricket!” “The condom police. I’m going to make up a completely made up threat and try to scare a bunch of folks who are not paying a lot of attention into thinking someone’s going to steal their birth control.'” Cruz said.
