The US rejects deal for easing tensions with North Korea
Though the USA and South Korea have repeatedly said it will be used to fend off North Korean missiles, the system will scan a much larger area in China than the two Koreas put together. Wang Yi, China’s foreign minister also warned the United States against deploying in South Korea a missile defense system.
The United States has rejected China’s proposal for a halt to joint US-South Korean military exercises if North Korea suspends its nuclear and missile activities.It called North Korean leader Kim Jong Un irrational and demanded “positive action” before the US can take his regime seriously.
He said Washington is open to having a dialogue with North Korea, but the onus is on Pyongyang to take meaningful actions toward secularization and refrain from provocations.
Kim Jong-Un is preparing for another missile test despite moves by China to diffuse growing tensions between North and South Korea. Wan said. “The priority is to flash the red light and apply the brakes”.
The U.S. Pacific Command said Monday that the Americans had begun deploying the THAAD system to South Korea, which is created to defend the U.S. ally from a North Korean attack.
It called on United Nations member states to redouble their efforts to implement sanctions on North Korea.
“All consequences entailed from this will be borne by the USA and the Republic of Korea”, he said.
North Korea faced severe sanctions from the UN Security Council for a series of launches previous year, in addition to two nuclear tests.

The U.S. and North Korea are yet to respond to China’s comments. The phone call – made at the request of President Trump – began at 8:40 a.m., Korea time, (around three-and-a-half hours ago) and lasted for about 20-minutes.
“What we’re doing in terms of our defence co-operation with South Korea is in no way comparable to the blatant disregard that North Korea has shown with respect to worldwide law”.
Next week, Xi Jinping, the president of China and Rex Tillerson, the Secretary of State of the United States are scheduled to meet in Beijing.
