The Value of Tony Romo

The Dallas Cowboys continue to struggle offensively during a lengthy losing streak, particularly at the end of games. Jones believes that if the Cowboys had Cassel instead of Weeden as their backup going into this season, they wouldn’t have lost seven straight games without Romo.

Much has been made about Dez Bryant’s effort, or lack thereof on the Cassel interception that ended the game, especially after Bryant went after the media in the locker room during the week leading up to the game.

Dallas has either led or been tied during the fourth quarter in six of their seven losses this season.

About the only thing that Romo’s return guarantees is that the team will have their franchise quarterback back on the field. They finished a three-game trip with a 20-19 win over Philadelphia and will play five of their last seven at home.

The return of Tony Romo is finally official. Whatever is the destiny of this Cowboys team, they will take a big step towards it when they take on the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

That is one reason why I hate off-season predictions because you never know how each individual team will perform from year to year.

To me, that’s still somewhat unbelievable considering the fact that the Cowboys were looked at as being one of the top teams to not only make the playoffs at the beginning of the 2015 season, but also perhaps contend for another Super Bowl title.
