‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 7 Spoilers: Ian Somerhalder Says Mystic Falls

“The Vampire Diaries” star Ian Somerhalder recently talked about the upcoming installment of the show and revealed his excitement over Damon’s future now that Elena (Nina Dobrev) is no longer around. At the end of The Vampire Diaries season 6, Stefan said he would wait as long as it took for Caroline. “It’s the first time we see our characters try and go up against them [and they don’t know what they’re doing]”. “Does he go with Lily and the heretics, or does he go with Damon?” Though the casting wasn’t yet announced, executive producer Julie Plec teased that there will be three new women introduced, Valerie and a couple named Nora and Mary-Louise, who have been together for 120 years. “I actually haven’t taken mine off since April”. It has been rumored that Nikki was the one who ordered Ian to do so for she is still jealous of their relationship. “The line is going to get a little crooked, and he’s going to hopscotch over it. We’re going to get a lot of naughty Damon trying not to be naughty”.

There is always a chance that Damon’s grief pushed him into a downward spiral and he is taking his revenge out on the innocent townsfolk.

We’re not sure what kind of storyline could make up for the loss of his loved one like that, but of course, “The Vampire Diaries” has gone through a lot and we wouldn’t put it past the writers to come up with a good comeback for Somerhalder’s character. “Let’s bring back that energy, that sexy volatile, risky [energy]”.

And that new Damon might have a bit of a complicated relationship with Bonnie (Kat Graham). “It also creates an interesting dynamic [between Bonnie and Damon] going into season 7 and the fact that Bonnie is alive and Elena’s not”.

Accola said that the romance between the two vampires could either work out very well or end in tragedy, but either way she is excited to see how their storyline progresses. “The fun of this couple is they’re just coming together, they’re just getting cemented in their status. She’s trying really hard not to be ready”.
