‘The View’ Cuts Nicolle Wallace After One Season
In conclusion, Wallace advised critics, “I just want everyone to know that even I have a line that can’t be crossed”.
ABC has offered Nicolle Wallace the chance to return to The View as a guest contributor.
Wallace, who was the communications director for former President George W. Bush, was hired to fill the slot vacated by Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who fled to friendlier pastures last September to become a co-host of the Fox News Channel’s Fox and Friends.
Thanks in large part to Wallace’s oftentimes clueless but always mean-girl presence, ratings for the “The View” have collapsed by double digits, a full 16%. Bure is among those in the running to replace Wallace as a show co-host and is said to be a fave because she has those “strong opinions” and creates buzzy/social-media-friendly moments.
Variety reports Wallace was shown the door because she didn’t argue enough over politics and wasn’t in the know when it came to celebrities. And will she continue as a contributor? They had their own TV show.
There is no word on whether or not she will accept that offer, the site noted. Kim: The world rejoiced when Kim’s 15-minute marriage to Kris Humphries ended and she fell in love with Kanye [West].
Wallace was accused of being “not up to speed on the Kardashians” which led to her firing from the ABC talk show. They’re very nice people I’m sure.
The next season of “The View” premieres in mid-September. ABC bosses are looking to fight the sliding viewership by revamping “The View” in its 19th season with a panel that includes returning moderator Whoopi Goldberg, Raven Symone, comedian Michelle Collins (who was announced on Monday) and two other yet-to-be-announced names.
