‘The Voice’ Season 9 Premiere Recap: Jordan Smith Shines Singing “Chandelier”

Now that Baber passed the blind audition, he’ll move on to the battle rounds with Team Blake. The show resumes tonight at 8 (KING-5). She is only 15 years old and sounded so mature with her voice. She was working out with her former personal trainer Mike Heatlie, who had helped her achieve unbelievable arms, legs, abs and booty too.

No one was shut out, as we have seen in past seasons. Adam would turn his chair first followed by Blake. The 25-year-old LA native, didn’t get a single chair to turn with his rendition of Say by John Mayer. His “Chandelier” was spot-on, but am I the only one who felt that, when we were finally allowed to spot him, the normality of his looks was something of a letdown? Gwen liked the drama and personality Barrett brought to the stage. Pharrell says he has something unique. They are all floored and Gwen gushes.

There were many stellar performances over the course of the evening. He does Locked Out of Heaven and really funks it up – but is a bit pitchy. The only person who can sing as high and fast as Bruno Mars is Bruno Mars.
