Grimmie, 22, was gunned down just minutes after she came off stage at The Plaza Live in Orlando, Florida, in the early hours of Saturday.
Family, friends and fans are mourning the death of former “The Voice” contestant Christina Grimmie after she was shot Friday.
A representative from the Orlando Police department told E!
This undated photo released by the Orlando Police shows Kevin James Loibl.
Grimmie’s brother immediately tackled the suspect after he opened fire, police say, and the suspect shot himself during the struggle. With a selfie of the two together, he wrote that he and Prinsloo are “absolutely devastated” over this tragedy. She died early Saturday. “The band members and Christina stayed to sign autographs for fans and sell merchandise”.
Police officers say Loibl then fatally shot himself.
Grimmie was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from critical injuries. “There is no indication that he knew her”.
“We don’t know what the motive is right now”. Preceding her were John Lennon, designer Gianni Versace and 1980s sitcom star Rebecca Shaeffer.
Selena said: “When she was 14, we met her and my parents and I signed her”. “We lost a attractive soul with an awesome voice”, Reuters reported.
She posted this video ahead of the gig. She included a picture of herself and Grimmie, who was her friend and occasional backup singer.
The Maroon 5 frontman was Christina’s coach on the sixth season of “The Voice USA” and after she was shot dead by a 21-year-old man following her concert performance in Orlando on Friday (10.06.16) he called her death a “senseless act of extreme violence”.
Kaitlin Martin said Saturday that security workers ran out of the building screaming at people to leave since a gunman had fired shots inside the concert venue.
“Everyone is just running all over the place”, said the teenager, who travelled to the concert from Brunswick, Georgia. No one answered the door to the one-story house that had a rusted, metal animal trap in the yard. Around 120 others were in The Plaza Live at the time. “I am left stunned and confused how these things can conceivably continue to happen in our world”, Levine said in the statement obtained by ABC News today. Mina said that, according to the initial investigation, the man planned to return home after the shooting.
