‘The Voice’ singer shocks judges – and his singing partner – with proposal
All the judges’ jaws dropped during the sweet moment when Preslar said “yes!” Christina is taking a break for a season and Coach Gwen is back to balance out all the testosterone.
“That was like an ideal performance”, she says. Do you think they picked the right coach? Foul!’ he exclaimed. She quickly gets both Gwen and Pharrell to turn their chairs. Then Team Gwen picks up another one-chair artist after Jeffery Austin’s version of “Lay Me Down”. Blake actually remembers him from his Nashville singing days and even recalls how people thought of Tyler as the next Travis Tritt.
The Dreamer crooner also claimed they make “great wine” in Cole’s hometown of Temecula, California. Jubal said of their album On a Dark Highway, “It’s never gonna be exactly the way you want it – that’s a hard lesson you’ve gotta learn when you’re making records”.
“I turned around ’cause I was just so interested in seeing what I was hearing”.
“NBC/Paul Drinkwater/NBC Viktor Kiraly sang ‘What’s Going On?”
Following their blind audition, the ecstatic Tulsa, Okla. natives stood before the judges’ panel to hear their critiques.
To the others’ dismay he chose Adam.
When it occurred, Blake was stunned and you had to wonder if there would be revenge of the fun kind in store.
Self-confessed nerd Korin Bukowski joined a choir as a kid. And I felt like it was something that was already in the air; we were talking about this. Her take on Andrew McMahon’s “Cecilia and the Satellite” shows off what Gwen calls her “character voice” – Korin has a wide range and a bright tone, though she elongates her vowels in such a way that it nearly sounds like she’s singing with a British accent. So, I’m really happy with the decision.
Blake also praised the girl’s talents.
“I didn’t know what he had been doing behind the scenes”. His vocal was fittingly soft and drippy.
‘He’s my hero’, said Darius.
She was born and raised in Hattiesburg.
The 22-year-old singer sugared Blake’s ears with the country song Angel From Montgomery. But Levine wanted him more. Look at Taylor Swift right?’ asked Gwen. There was one glaringly off note when he tried to go for the falsetto, but the good news is that most of the coaches (at least everyone other than Blake Shelton) turned around by then. He’ll get his chance to advance his career under Blake’s tutelage. “Song choice is important for you and you need somebody who can get there with you”, said Blake Shelton.
Gwen’s got a few zingers of her own. The young artist started learning to play the guitar at the tender age of four when her grandfather handed over a small six-string, and the rest was history. It was a ton of pressure, but I still did the best that I could and, yes.
Next week the battles continue on The Voice.
